2013 Winner Lifetime Service Award

Councilman Nicholas Narducci

Mr. Nicholas Narducci, Providence City Councilman, has been a friend and supporter of ReFocus and its mission to persons with developmental disabilities since 2007. Nick has tirelessly advocated for the work of our Agency and has been instrumental in helping us secure block grants of over $391,000 through the Providence Office of Community Development. These grants have enabled ReFocus to replace the roof and put up an entrance canopy at Greeley Street. The awards have allowed us to replace boilers, insulation and thermostats at 1228 Westminster and at the main building on Greeley Street. For three years, the Public Service money has funded our basic and advanced Literacy programs, and in the current year, it has afforded us the capital to begin our new workforce development program, the E-Zone.

And we are only one of seven agencies in the city for whom Nick has secured significant funding over the last several years!

  • the Wanskuck Boys and Girls’ Club, a new pool and a Karate School
  • President of the North End/Wanskuck Little League
  • the Charles Street Community Center
  • the Southside Boys and Girls’ Club reopened
  • the Da Vinci Center, one of Nick’s favorite beneficiaries
  • Chad Brown housing, two water parks and a repaved basketball court

For all of these ventures, and the dedication they represent, ReFocus is pleased to honor Mr. Nicholas J. Narducci with its 2013 Lifetime Service Award!
